Anna Mae Kaboly, 98, passed away of natural causes in peace on Friday, December 4, 2020. She was born on August 3, 1922 in Monessen, daughter of the late Marko and Mildred Guyich Sutovich, the youngest of their eight children.

A lifelong resident of Monessen, Anna Mae resided at Hallsworth House since 2013. Affectionately known by staff as Studda Bubba, she was an avid crocheter, over the years passing out hundreds of doilies to friends and visitors. After dinner she could be found in the living room swapping stories of her Serbian roots and the good old days on 12thStreet and Morgan Avenue. At the age of 16 she began working at Shire Brothers Clothing, a few storefronts up from her home on Schoonmaker Avenue. Widowed and a single mother of two at the age of 36, in the 1960s she became a School Lunch Lady at Vocational Elementary and then went on to work for the Cole/Dacko Agency of Nationwide Insurance until her retirement in 1986. During her leisure years, she enjoyed watching WWF Wrestling, making pizzelles and “hanging-out” with her lady friends at Libby’s Dairy Bar. She was an early member of the St. John’s Russian Orthodox Church and a founding member of the former Monessen Volunteer Fire Department #2 Ladies Auxiliary.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Kelly” Kaboly, son Charles “Butch” Kaboly, five brothers, Charles Sutovich, Nick Sutovich, John Sucevic, Stanley Sutovich and George Sutovich, and two sisters, Helen Relich and Anna Povich. She is survived by son Gary (Kate Knorr) of Pittsburgh; three grandsons and daughters-in-law, Brian (Heather), Keith (Casey), and Mark (Jennifer); four great granddaughters; Porter, Sydney, Jillian and Briella; and four great grandsons, Matthew, James, Nathaniel and Wyatt; and scores of nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces and great-great nephews and great-great nieces.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and the recent increase of infections, there will be no public visitation or service. Anna Mae would want everyone to be safe. Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc. www.billicksfuneralhome.com is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to the Monessen Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department 1510 Marion Ave. Monessen Pa 15062.

Hello, Gary. I want to extend my sincere sympathy for the passing of your mom. Even though my memory fails me at times, I remember your mom vividly as an integral part at our Vocational School. She was a kind, well-liked lunch lady and exuded a comforting feeling that I always sensed.
May her memory be eternal✝️.
Sincerely,
Sylvia

Gary, sorry to hear about your mom, you have my deepest sympathy. I really liked your mom, I remember her very well, always with a natural smile on her face. Your mom and my dad grew up together on Morgan Ave. They were only 2 months apart. May she rest in peace.
