Adam W Cavrak

November 25, 1946 — September 14, 2015

Adam William Cavrak , 68, of Woodridge IL, and earlier in life of Massena NY and Monessen PA, passed away on Monday September 14 2015. Bill fought a long seven year battle with cancer. Bill was grateful for the assistance he received from the American Cancer Society and encourages your gifts to ACS to help others.

Bill was born in N. Charleroi on November of 1946, the son of Adam and Ann (Kovatich) Cavrak. Bill grew up in Monessen and played Little league and Pony League Baseball and was a graduate of Monessen High School (1964). He is remembered for playing in the marching Band and was a member of the Croatian Junior Tamburitzan. Bill then graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Material Science - Metallurgy in 1968. Bill lived his life as a single man in his career field of metallurgy and held strong heartfelt connection to family and his Croatian heritage. Bill held hopes of final retirement in hometown Monessen, until cancer changed the plan. Upon graduation from the University of Pittsburgh, Bill took a position with Reynolds Metals in Massena NY and later took a corporate transfer to the Reynolds Metals melting facility in McCook Illinois in the 80's. It was then that Bill took residence in Woodridge IL and commuted daily to the McCook Aluminum Plant.

Bill had an interest in travel and visited Australia and New Zealand. Bill also enjoyed visits with

family in Orange County CA , Monessen PA. and a bit of gaming in Reno and Las Vegas. Bill enjoyed the sights of the Old West in Virginia City NV . …. Bills other interests were in Lionel Trains : collecting a few memorabilia from the Lionel Train era so many of us remember at Christmas time under our Christmas Tree. In retirement, Bill was caught by the computer bug and found joy in constructing large capacity tower computers. Build em and give em away so that he could build another with the latest gadgetry.

Bill , a single man; His parents both came from large families and thus Bill is survived by Uncle Peter Kovatich (PA), Aunt Frances (Cavrak) Wrabel (CA.) and Aunt Margaret (Cavrak) Lafko (AZ.) and many cousins. Bill's cousins, who will miss the opportunity of sharing time with him range from Pennsylvania to California and from a collection of states in between.
