With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Carl Cocciolone, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on July 3rd, 2026, at the age of 69.

Born on October 11th, 1956, Carl was the cherished son of Rose Vitalbo and Raymond Cocciolone. He grew up in Monessen and later graduated from Mon Valley Catholic High School and Thiel College. Carl’s life took a special turn when he met his wife, Sharon, during his commute to work in Pittsburgh. They shared a beautiful 42-year marriage.

Carl’s passion for horses shaped much of his life. He spent many years working as a horse trainer and owner at The Meadows, where his dedication, laughter, and high-spirited nature were well known. Above all, Carl’s greatest pride and joy were his three daughters and his grandchildren, whom he adored deeply. He was forever grateful to his sister, Patty, who donated a kidney in 2018, giving him extra time and cherished memories with family.

Carl was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Raymond and Rose, and his sister, Joanne. He is survived by his devoted wife Sharon, their three children: Kristen Mayernik (Nathan), Carly Thompson (Derek), and Jessica Gira (Alex), his sister Patty Alcorn (Rick), and his treasured grandchildren: Caleesi and Kalani Thompson, and Kaiden, Jayce, Bennett, and Bentlee Mayernik.

As per Carl’s wishes there will be no public visitation and funeral services will be private. The Robert Billick Funeral Home Monessen has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.billicksfuneralhome.com
