David J Dyky, age 67 of Monessen .Pa died on Thursday March 7, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Monessen, PA. on February 23 1952 son of the late John and Ann Talpas Dyky. Dave was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen PA. and a former member of Most Holy Name Name of Jesus Catholic Church also in Monessen PA (prior to it's closing). He was a graduate of both Monessen High School class of 1970 and California State College in 1974. Dave worked locally for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel CO Monessen Plant prior to its closing in 1986 as well as several other jobs after the plant closed. He was an active volunteer and EMT for the former and original Monessen Ambulance Service as well as an active participant and volunteer for the Monessen Historical Society donating his time, talents, and Monessen steel mill memorabila to the museum. Dave was preceded in death by his father John M. Dyky in 1979, brother Dennis J. Dyky in 2009, mother Ann (Talpas) Dyky on October 26 2018, and a brother Douglas J Dyky on December 4 2018. Dave is survived by his brother Donald J. Dyky of Charleroi PA., a sister and brother in law MaryAnn and Michael J. Wood of Raleigh, NC. one nephew and former Marine Zachariah J. Dyky of Scenery Hill, PA, one aunt Cecilia Talpad Kubik of North Versailles, PA, and numerous cousins and friends .At the request of the family and per Dave's wishes, there will be no public visitation with services conducted in private. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contribution in Dave's name may do so to the Monessen historical Society at www.monessenhistoricalsociety.com , or to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at www.hillman.upmc.com .
