Joan Tunney

Joan Mardell Tunney died peacefully in Mebane, NC on April 8, 2026. Born in Ellsworth, PA. She was the daughter of the Late Ruth and Bill Burger. Joan was married to the love of her life Thomas J Tunney for 56 years. Surviving are her children Susan (Dave) Weaver, Diane (Joe) Bracco, TJ (Debbie) Tunney, Rob Tunney and fiancé Joanne, Jane (Ron) Mizer. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom, son in law Bob Bracco and granddaughter Courtney. Joan was a proud grandmother to Carlee (Bob), Johnny, Ariel (Joe) Orrie (Jenny), Emalee (Mary), Anna, Mollee, Ryan. Great grandmother Rex, Rhys, Mila, Judah, and Jesse. Joan loved spending time with family. She was an avid reader, finding quiet companionship in the pages of countless books. Joan was a talented quilter, pouring love into every piece. Each of Joan’s children and grandchildren received one of her beautiful quilts. Joan loved gardening and enjoyed the outdoors. Friends will be received on Saturday May 2 from 10 to 11:30 in the Robert A Billick Funeral Home Inc. Grand Blvd and Marion Ave Monessen.
