John Peresolak 88 of Monessen, passed away peacefully on December 24 2018 in Mount St. Macrina Manor Uniontown . Born in Monessen on May 9 1930 he was the son of the late George and Zuzzana Kohut Peresolak. He retired as a rotary pressman from Business Forms Inc. of Monongahela. He was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church. Mr. Peresolak proudly served with the 5th U.S. Air Force in the Korean War and received several ribbons, citations and a commendation ribbon through a formal presentation at Mitchel Air Force Base on September 26 1953. He was a member of the American Legion Thomas McKee Post 28 (Monessen)and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3557 ( Belle Vernon). John loved roses, growing tomatoe plants from seed and giving them away to family and friends. He also enjoyed working in his wood shop on projects large and small. Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his brother George Jr. He is survived by nieces and nephews Susan Shepler (Mick) of Monessen, Nancy Schlosser (Don) of Charleroi, Michael Persolak of Latrobe, Robert Peresolak Belle Vernon, James Peresolak (Ann) of Speers and George Peresolak of AZ. and a sister in law Helen Peresolak of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 pm in the Robert A Billick Funeral Home Inc. Stephen Wahal Officiating interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. American legion Post 28 will conduct Services Sunday at 2:30 pm in the funeral home.
