John C. Povrzenich 90 of Monessen on Sunday November 25 2018 in Victoria House. Born in Monessen on September 12, 1928. He was the son of the late Louis and Mary Belavich Povrzenich. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel CO. as a Melter in the B.O.F. He was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Lions Club, Croatian Club, French Club of Monessen and the Belle Vernon American Legion. John served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by four brothers Frank, Joe, Nick and Lou Povrzenich and one sister Katherine Begly. He was survived by his wife Marion Povrzenich for hours after his death until she joined him with Our Lord. A brother and sister in law Leonard and Charlene Povrzenich of Rostraver Twp. and a sister and brother in law Barbara and George Dzurinko of Charleroi, one nephew Mike, three nieces Tammy, Jill, and Stacey. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc.www.billicksfuneralhome.com Grand Blvd and Marion Ave Monessen. A blessing service will be held on Friday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church, double internment will follow in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery. Monessen Lions Club will conduct services Thursday at 6 pm in the funeral home. The Belle Vernon American Legion will conduct services on Thursday at 7 pm in the funeral home.
