Joseph L Ciglar 87 of Monessen on Wednesday November 28 2012 in his home. Born in Monessen on May 4 1925 he was the son of the late Edward and Ann Jurnek Ciglar. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Co., Monessen Plant. He served his country during WW II as a gliderman with the 13th Airborne Division over Central Europe. He was catholic by faith. Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his wife Jean Rose Taylor Ciglar, a brother John "Red" Ciglar and a sister Justine Jean Serdy. He is survived by a daughter and son in law Kim and Charles Roscoe of Monessen and a sister Betty Ciglar of West Mifflin , a neice Barbara Ciglar of Ruffsdale and two nephews David Ciglar of TN and Thomas Ciglar of NH. Friends will be received on Monday from 9 am until 11 am in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc. and cremation service Grand Blvd and Marion Ave. Monessen (724) 684-3700 www.billicksfuneralhome.com Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11am with Ms. Libby Hewett Spiritual Care Coordinator officiating entombment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
