Joseph W. Durka Jr. 77 of Charleroi went to be with the Lord on Saturday December 9th in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born in N. Charleroi on July 28 1946 he was the son of the late Joseph W. and Anna M. Serbak Durka Sr. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church Charleroi Site. Joseph served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a retired Steel Worker working for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Co. and its successors for 51 years. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Joann D. Bradica. He is survived by his wife Rita Dzyak Durka and a son Michael J. Durka both of Charleroi, sisters and brother in law Bonnie and David Blake, Paul and Susanne Dzyak, Maureen and Paul Joseph his aunts Sophie Durka Piscitelli and Beatrice Durka, nephews Paul Dzyak, John, Jason and Joel Bradica and many cousins. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4 until 8 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc.
