Matina (Mermigas) Manos

God received another angel today. On Sunday June 14 2015 , Matina Mermigas Manos 89 of Monessen, beloved wife of the late Gus Manos, passed away peacefully. She was the loving mother of Eugenia "Jeannie" (Carl) Menego and Maria (Richard) Planey; grandmother of Alexandra (John) Jacobs, Tina (Craig) Lee, Richard (Regina) Planey, Beth (David) Smock; great grandmother of Megan and Lauren Planey, Peter and Hannah Lee, and Jack Jacobs. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Eugenia Mermigas. She is also survived by her nephews Emmamuel Tsouris and Michael Manos and a niece Georgette Manos Joyner. Godchildren John Mermigas and John Tsouris and many cousins that she considered her brothers and sisters. She cherished most being surrounded by her loving family and was loved and adored by all who knew her. She loved singing in her church choir and was a life long member of the St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church. She touched the lives of many people with her kindness, her gentleness, her giving heart, and her compassion. There wasn't a person that she didn't like. She always prayed to have the eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad and a soul that never loses faith in God. We would like to thank her caregivers at Victoria House and Dunlevy Gardens. Also thank you to the Hospice workers from Horizons and Amedisys. You were angels sent from above. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3 until 7 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc. DeStefano Officiating interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to St. Spyridon G.O. Church. Trisagion services will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the funeral home
