Paul Pihota

Paul " Uncle Paul" Pihota, 89 of Rostraver Twp. died on November 16 2013 following a brief illness. Mr. Pihota was born March 6 1924 in Donora Pa. The son of the late John and Helen Sanko Pihota.He was a graduate of Donora High School Class of 1942 and was a member of the school band. He was retired from the USX Corporation as a computer operator in the accounting department located in their offices on Muriel St. Southside Pittsburgh. He was a member of St. Nickolas Ukrainian Orthodox Church Monessen Pa, where he was an officer of the Parish Council.. He also was a charter member of the Ukrainian Orthodox League of the USA where he held the office of Financial Secretary. He also served on the Rostraver Township Sewage Authority for 10 years, first as Assistant Secretary/Treasure, then as the Treasure. He was preceded in death by his Beloved wife Julia Monosky Pihota on July 1 1999 and a sister Mary and a brother John. He is survived by his niece and caregiver Maryellen Obitko of Stroall Acers, Allenport Pa and his Nephew and caregiver Duane Obitko of Jefferson Estates as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc. Grand Blvd. and Marion Ave. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 am in St. Nickolas Ukrainian Orthodox Church with Fr. Roman Yatskiv officiating interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Panachida services will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 pm in the Funeral Home
