RoAnn V (Smith) Nicholls

RoAnn Vilene “Ro” Nicholls, loving wife and mother, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 in UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a resident of Monessen. She was born on May 17, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA., a daughter of the late Jay and Violet (Thomas) Smith. She was employed by Nutrition Inc. and was a cafeteria server in the Monessen School District for over thirty years. Ro enjoyed bringing a smile to the faces of the students and faculty that she served every day. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Ro lit up the room – it was difficult to feel any other type of emotion other than happiness in her presence. On August 12, 1961, she married Gerald K Nicholls who survives. She is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and George Yartin of Monessen, a son and daughter-in-law Gerald “Jay” and Joyce Nicholls of Perryopolis, granddaughters: Kristie Yartin, Raelyn (Matt) Somogyi, Rebecca Nicholls, grandsons: Jacob Nicholls, Noah Yartin, and great granddaughter: Allison Somogyi.
