William Chase Evancho

William "Chase" Evancho 92 of Monessen on Wednesday July 20 2016 in Mon Valley Hospital. Born in Monessen on October 6 1923 he was the son of the late John and Sophia Bizaha Evancho. Chase retired as a crane operator with Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Co. He was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church where he served as Cantor and Choir Director for numerous years. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 954 and the Holy Name Society. Chase served his country in the US Army during WW II. Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his wife Dorothy Rasko Evancho, a daughter Laurel Senitta, a brother John and a sister Ann Zelenak. He is survived by two daughters and sons in law Charlesa "Chickie" and Gerald Saksun of Monessen and Gloria "Ginger" and Jack Pollack of Fallowfield Twp. Six grandchildren Wayne Senitta and Dan Washington of Albany NY, Steven Senitta and Evan Senitta both of Monessen, Jenifer Saksun of Bridgeville, Kimberly and Brian Marshall of Charleroi, Adam and Lisa Saksun of Murrysville, Janis and Nick Gribble of Aurora OH and Jillian and Mathew Davis of Leicester NC. Seven great grandchildren Hunter and Chase Kossar, Zoe Gribble, Lila Davis, Jackson Anthony Davis, Kevin and Cameron Saksun. One Brother Michael Evancho of Mogodore Falls OH and one sister Sophia Evancho of Canonsburg. Friends will be received on Friday from 2:30 pm until 7 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc. Grand Blvd and Marion Ave. Monessen. www.billicksfuneralhome.com. Parastas services will be held on Friday at 2:30 pm in the funeral home. Panachida services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a 10 am Divine Liturgy in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will follow
