Jean Regina (Berkovich) D'Errico

April 25, 1931 — April 11, 2021

Regina Jean D’Errico (born Berkovich), 89, was called home to the Lord on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 11th in Baltimore, MD. After years of putting up the good fight with chronic pain and illness, Jean fell asleep peacefully, surrendering her soul with her daughter Lenese by her side. Jean D’Errico was born April 26, 1931 in Monessen, PA where she grew up on Linden Ave and attended St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic church as a life-long parishioner. Jean worked at McGuire’s sewing factory as a seamstress as well as at Janosick and Span’s drugstore, where she met her future husband, Thomas D’Errico. Together they moved to Ocean City, MD embarking on a career in hotel management and raising a beautiful family of four daughters. Over the course of the years, Jean welcomed a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her love, affection, and comfort were second to none. She will always be lovingly remembered and sorely missed as our Baba. Jean D’Errico was loved by everyone she met and was always the life of the party. Jean will be remembered for her devotion to her Catholic faith, her dedication to her family, her generous heart, her hilarious story-telling, and her outstanding cooking (including the many recipes that her children and grandchildren learned at her knees and continue to make and cherish to this day). Jean enjoyed crocheting and was known for her beautiful afghan blankets which you could be sure to receive for special occasions and which continue to wrap her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in her love and warmth. Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D’Errico, mother, Mary Timkovich Berkovich, father, Alex Berkovich, sister, Mary Desenberg, brother, Johnny Berkovich, brother, Alex Berkovich, brother (Johnny), brother (Charlie), brother (Nicky), sister (Mary), and two stillborn babies (Mary and Christopher).
