John A. Yurkovich 88 of Monessen passed away on Wednesday May 28 2014 in Mon Valley Care Center. Born in Bentleyville on December 1 1925 he was the son of the late August and Pauline Gnezda Yurkovich. He retired from U.S. Steel Co. Fairless Hills Plant, He was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, the Croatian Fraternal Union lodge 194, the American Legion Post 28. John served is country in the U.S. Army during WW II and also in the U.S. Air force Reserves. Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his wife Agnes Yurkovich. One brother Ed Yurkovich, Six sisters Josephine Skirchak, Emaline Zaniska, Justine Masi, Ann LaFalce, Mary Puskarich, and Kathryn Razum. He is survived by a son and daughter in law John and Patricia Yurkovich of Monessen and a daughter and son in law Mary Louise Yurkovich and Gary Rinehimer of Trout Run Pa. Two granddaughters Christine Fish of Sellersville PA. and Lori McLaughlin of North Charleroi, one great grandson Tyler Fish One Brother and sister in law Steve and Erma Yurkovich of Brownsville. Friends will be received on Sunday from 6 until 8 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc. Grand Blvd and Marion Ave Monessen. A blessing service will be held on Monday at 12 Noon followed by a 12:30 pm Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church with Father Michael Crookston officiating interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
