Nancy Muzar Penich of Monessen, Pennsylvania went to join the Lord on November 22, 2022 at the age of 91. She was born on September 6, 1931 and was a lifelong resident of Monessen. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Anne Gustin Muzar. She was a graduate of Monessen High School, Class of 1949. Nancy wed her husband John Joseph Penich on August 26, 1950, at St. Leonard’s Roman Catholic Church in Monessen. Nancy played the prim in a local tamburitza group for many years and was their featured soloist; she performed at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Pittsburgh, PA and at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN. Nancy and her husband John owned and operated Tip Top Tavern in Monessen for sixteen years. She also worked in Louie’s Bakery in Charleroi for six years. She was a long-standing member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and the CFU (Croatian Fraternal Union.) May she rest in peace; slava joj vjecna. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anne Muzar, her husband, John Penich, a sister-in-law, Barbara Willis Muzar, and a niece, Anita Muzar. She is survived by her daughters Arlene Karg and Susan Lane (Brian), grandchildren Edward Lane, Sarah Nowlen (Brian), and Chelsea Lane, great-grandchildren Karena and Colton Nowlen, brother Martin Muzar (Cheri), nieces Michele Barbacow (David) and Robin Rose (David), and many cousins. Friends will be received on Sunday November 27th, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc., Grand Blvd. & Marion Avenue Monessen, Pennsylvania. Funeral services will begin on Monday November 28th in the funeral home with a blessing service beginning at 9:30 am, followed by a 10:00 am Mass in Epiphany of our Lord Church with Fr. Michael J. Crookston, officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
