Olga (Homas) Cieply

Olga Homas Cieply, age 94, entered into eternal rest on January 24, 2022. Born in Monessen
on December 27, 1927, a daughter of the late John and Catherine Chomosh Homas, she was a
graduate of Monessen High School and was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox
Church and its church choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband,
Joe “Feecho” Cieply, grandson Nathan Cieply, grandson-in-law Sandor “Shunny” Beregi,
daughter-in-law Jenny Cieply, and sisters Helen Meisl, Rose Adamson, Ann Gallas, and
Margaret Opat. She was the loving mother of Joanne (John) Greenwald of Forward Township,
Nancy Shepler of Monessen, Lev (Janet) Cieply of Jefferson Hills and Orest Cieply of
Monessen; was adored by her grandchildren Justin (Stacey) Greenwald, Jordan (Alex Haber)
Greenwald, Lindsay Beregi, Megan (Chris) Vaccaro, Chris (Lauren) Cieply, Audra (Rob) McCall,
A.J. (Autumn) Cieply and Matthew Cieply; and great-grandchildren Lula, Chase, Easton,
Alyona, Roland and Wesley. She is also survived by sister Mary Coleman and brother Ben
Homas, and many loving nieces and nephews. The family expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the
caregivers of Mon Valley Care Center and OSPTA Hospice for their gentle care, support and
compassion. Private services were conducted by the V. Rev. Roman Yatskiv. Memorial
contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, ℅ Nancy Shepler, 639
E. Seneca St., Monessen, PA 15062.
